The battery is also a beast, with a 200-minute runtime that cleaned the entire ground floor on a single charge.
That’s a real advantage if you have a big, open space. However, it gets stuck on more obstacles than the C28.
It wedged itself under the same low sofa twice in one week, and it has a harder time with thresholds.

Upgrade pick: MONSGA Robot Vacuum and Mop

This is the bot I recommend to clients who have more money than patience. The roborock Qrevo S5V is the first bot I’ve tested that genuinely handles edges. The FlexiArm Edge Mopping swings out to get into corners and along baseboards, which is where I spend half my professional life on my hands and knees.
It’s not perfect, but it’s the closest thing to a real mop I’ve seen. The mapping is also the best I’ve tested.
It created a flawless map of a two-story house on the first run, and it handled the transition between the mapped main floor and the unmapped basement without losing its mind, which is more than I can say for the Shark.
The suction is 22,000Pa, which is overkill for most homes, but it means the bin fills with real dust, not just fluff.
But the price is the issue. At ~$700, you are paying for a level of refinement that most homes don’t need. It’s quieter, smarter, and better at mopping, but it still won’t replace a real vacuum for deep carpet cleaning.
I tell my clients that if they have the budget, they won’t regret it. If they don’t, the C28 does 80% of the job for half the price.

Flaws but not dealbreakers: The app is feature-packed, which means there’s a learning curve. And the dock takes up more floor space than the others. But if you’re paying this much, you’re probably okay with that.
The self-emptying option: Shark AV2501S AI Ultra
I paid ~$300 for the Shark AV2501S during a Black Friday weekend, and honestly, I wouldn’t spend more than that for it. The Matrix Clean pattern is genuinely good, and the no-go zones work properly, which is more than I can say for most bots in this class.
The Evacuate and Resume feature is a real convenience, it empties itself mid-cycle and goes back to work.
But the mapping could be much better. My first Explore run missed entire wall sections. I had to run it 2-3 times before the map was accurate.
And the app, which could use some improvements, has no live location tracking or estimated time of completion.
I’ve had registration errors that said “Something went wrong” with zero explanation.
The self-empty base is loud, as loud as a typical upright vacuum, and the foam roll filter inside the dock gets very dirty very fast. You’ll be cleaning it every 2-3 runs. That’s a maintenance chore that the eufy doesn’t have.
Matrix Clean also only works on one room at a time, which is annoying if you want to clean the whole floor in that pattern.
It’s a bot that does a lot of things well but nothing consistently. This is for the person who hates emptying a dust bin and doesn’t mind cleaning a foam filter instead.
Flaws but not dealbreakers: The mapping and the filter maintenance are the trade-offs for the self-emptying convenience. If you have a two-story house, the map switching can cause it to re-clean the same 3-foot section over and over until you manually stop it. I had to delete the map and re-explore to fix it.
The budget pick: ILIFE A30 Pro Robot Vacuum and Mop
The ILIFE A30 Pro is a reminder that you get what you pay for. At ~$180, it’s the cheapest bot I tested, and it does the basics. It picked up crumbs and dust on hard floors, and the 10,000Pa suction is enough for daily maintenance.
But it has no self-emptying, and the navigation is basic. It bounces around more than it maps, and it gets stuck on thresholds that the eufy handles easily.
It’s fine for a single room or a small apartment, but I wouldn’t trust it in a full-sized home. This is for the person who wants to dip their toe into the robot vacuum world without spending a lot of money, and who has a simple, open floor plan.
The competition
The iRobot Roomba 415X with its 90-day self-emptying base is a solid unit, but it’s priced at a premium and the mopping is a simple pad drag, which is the weakest type. It lost because the eufy C28 does more for less.
The generic “Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo, 90-Day Self Emptying” is a prime example of marketing over substance.
I’ve seen this pattern in buyer reports, and it gets stuck on “quite literally everything.” It lost because it’s a babysitting job.
The Shark lost because of the mapping and filter issues, but it’s still a good option if you value self-emptying over navigation.
